Our insights into the industry...
In parts I and II, we looked at some of the core enablers that are driving today’s Cambrian explosion in Artificial Intelligence (AI).At Synchronous, we routinely scan and map where we think the disruptive applications will be, as illustrated above, guided by some of our consultant colleagues who study the space even more intensely.
In part I, we looked at the contribution of visual theory to the Cambrian explosion in AI. Of course, sight and natural language processing alone are not enough to explain the rapid developments of the last decade. Rather, it seems that there is a convergence of several factors. We'll explore them here.

"To understand cognitive intelligences such as Siri, Alexa, or Karla, and why they are (re)surging with new-found skills and independence in 2018, I think it’s worth taking a small step back in context, in this first of a three-part series on AI."

We can prevent behavioral health conditions. For those we can't prevent, we can at least provide early intervention. We can prevent a behavioral health crisis the same way we can prevent a heart attack; there will continue to be genetic and inherent risks of behavioral health conditions but there is a lot we can do to protect ourselves from them. We help make sure every dawn is a new day.
Synchronous Health increases capacity of behavioral health providers in three ways. We increase the amount of time Specialists spend delivering care rather than managing administrative tasks. We allow for shorter intervention times based on what the person being helped needs and wants rather than the traditional hour long session. We also vary the Specialist education requirements and appropriately matching them to the needs of those we serve.
Change is hard. Putting strategies in to action can be nearly impossible when someone is already triggered. Our technology helps identify patterns to predict triggers, our Specialists help develop the best strategies to change behavior in the future and our bot, Karla™ helps deliver support before triggering while there's still time and energy to use the new skills.
Tradition plus Innovation equals Progress. We respect what we have learned from the past and use it to inform the best ways to move forward in order to reach our overarching goals of improving health.
This is the story of how Synchronous Health co-founder and COO Lisa Henderson met her fellow co-founders and started a revolutionary health care company that scales human compassion through artificial intelligence.
